Subsidize and legalize Public Access and Integration of Renewable Energy Technologies

The Issue

For generations, my family, like millions around the world, have shouldered the expense and uncertainty of fluctuating electricity bills. It often feels like there is no escape from these rising costs, especially considering that the demand for electricity is rapidly increasing and that demand will never go away. It's become a necessity. Our hospitals, emergency services, and most of the things we rely on use electricity to function at all, but all of that energy is made, sold, and delivered(usually) by one company in an area(BGE and many others). It's a monopoly on energy. However, there are innovative and renewable technology solutions that could help regular citizens and businesses become self-sufficient and reduce the demand for a third party energy resource. Turbine fences and walls, water intake pipe turbines, see-through solar panel windows, and electricity generating walkways and driving paths represent just a fraction of this opportunity. And the possibilities don't end there. New inventions are made daily.

However, for these technologies to become widespread and normalized in our daily lives, government legalization and support, and support from the people all around the world is paramount. Public funding and donations to non-profits that participate in giving these kinds of services can ensure the development, dispersion, and integration of these renewable energy sources, thereby reducing our dependence on traditional electricity sources and ultimately lowering electricity costs worldwide.

In 2023, renewable energy sources accounted for about 9% of total U.S. energy consumption and about 23% of electricity generation according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. With financial commitment from governments worldwide, these figures could drastically increase.

Imagine a future where each household contributes to the energy grid, and can store power for themselves. Or just wanted to be self-sufficient and legally can. Power outages would become a thing of the past. It would be a world where the people have the power - quite literally - to meet their energy needs. This stand against ever-increasing electricity bills is not just about immediate savings; it's about unlocking a future rooted in sustainable practices, increased energy reliability, and shared responsibility for electricity generation. The people deserve the autonomy to make their own power, and for that, we need the support of the government and the people. It is unfortunately illegal to produce and/ or store your own power in some areas, and the government would have to legalize self-sufficient production if we get enough signatures. It could never be done if the government or the people did this task on their own. We need everyone.

Doing all this will save the farms that make our food from becoming solar farms that make our power and free the people to make their own electricity. It will keep food on our tables and our lights and equipment running. I urge you to think about what can be done to produce electricity in your area. Either for yourself or your community. Producing more electricity and inventing new ways to do so will only help our cause. Thank you all.

Sign the petition today to insist that governments invest in proper renewable integration and legalize energy self-sufficiency, and people globally make considerable investments in incorporating renewable energy production into daily life activities and happenings. Let's do this for a brighter, more sustainable future.

When you sign don't think about just your neighbors, or the poor, think about yourself too. You could eliminate an electricity bill for you and your family.

It's not about today, it's about tomorrow.
