Subject: Complaint Against Nettech India for False Promises, Financial Fraud, and Employme
The Issue
[19:53, 12/15/2024] Admin Admin Anuradh Pawar: I, Monish Sakpal and Anirudh Pawar, a resident of Kharghar, wish to bring to your attention the fraudulent practices, misleading assurances, and unethical conduct of Nettech India (operating through its Nerul and Thane branches). Due to the institute’s false promises of guaranteed job placements and exaggerated salary packages, I have suffered significant financial loss, unemployment, and mental distress. I seek your intervention to initiate appropriate legal action under the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Details of the Complaint
Initial Inquiry and False Promises (October 27, 2023):
I visited Nettech India’s Nerul branch on October 27, 2023, and met their Sales Manager, Mr. Aman, who assured me of a 100% job placement guarantee and a significant salary hike, regardless of my previous work experience.
Based on these assurances, I enrolled in their Master’s Program in Data Science and Data Analytics by paying ₹90,000. The course was promoted as a comprehensive job-oriented program with placement support.
The promises made to me were deceptive and amount to “unfair trade practices” under Section 2(1)(r) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Admission and Loan Processing (December 11, 2023):
Acting in good faith, I paid ₹90,000 from my savings and secured an educational loan from Akshaar Finance to manage the course fees.
My first EMI of ₹7,917 was debited on the same day. Despite this financial commitment, the institute failed to deliver the promised services.
Unemployment Due to Misleading Claims:
On Mr. Aman’s assurance that I would secure employment after completing the first course module, I resigned from my previous job to dedicate myself to the program.
However, after completing the module, Nettech India failed to provide any job placement assistance or opportunities, leaving me unemployed and financially strained.
This amounts to “deficiency of service” under Section 2(1)(o) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and may also be treated as fraud under Section 420 of the IPC.
Delays in Course Initiation and Lack of Quality (December 2023):
Despite paying the full fee in December, the course was delayed, and the first module (Python) commenced only after repeated follow-ups.
The delay and lack of proper planning have caused me financial and emotional stress.
Furthermore, the teaching staff demonstrated unprofessional conduct, particularly Professor Hamid, who publicly humiliated me during an AI module, and no action was taken on my complaints.
Contradictory Placement Policies:
During my follow-up with Nettech India’s Thane branch, their HR Manager, Ms. Harpreet, contradicted Mr. Aman’s promises, stating that placements were only available to candidates with prior experience, which was not disclosed during admission.
This deceptive practice violates Section 2(1)(r) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Other Students Affected:
I am not the only victim of Nettech India’s practices. Several students, including Mr. Aniruddh Pawar and Mr. Akash Geete, have faced similar issues:
Aniruddh Pawar was falsely promised a salary package of ₹13–20 lakhs, which was later denied.
Akash Geete, who completed the course six months ago, received no placement assistance and was ignored by the management.
Present Status (as of August 26, 2024):
Despite numerous follow-ups through emails, phone calls, and in-person visits, the institute has refused to address my concerns. Their lack of response has left me in a state of financial and professional distress.
