The Village of Saranac Lake and surrounding communities are facing a housing crisis that is negatively impacting school enrollment, local business, and membership in volunteer organizations.

In recently acquiring ownership of 33 Petrova Avenue, a 15 acre parcel of land located within a short walk to Saranac Lake Elementary, Middle and High Schools and the downtown business district, the Village of Saranac Lake is also in a unique position to positively impact the housing crisis and its residual issues by examining the property's potential, and community value, for a year-round residential housing development. 

This is a petition to formally request the Village of Saranac Lake Board of Trustees commission a feasibility study for 33 Petrova Avenue as a potential site for residential housing development. Specifically to determine how many residential housing units could be built on the property. 

You do not need to be a resident of the Village of Saranac Lake to sign. The point is for more people to have the opportunity to live in the community. Your voice matters.
