Hundreds of Students at the University  of Portsmouth, taking a Marine Biology course, related degree, or show a general interest in Marine Biology, don't have a society to represent them and their needs. A Marine Biology Society has the ability to change a student's university experience for the better, thus making the University of Portsmouth a more attractive institution, to study further education. 

The society will provide an increased social interaction between peers and staff, whilst providing a safe, fun and social environment. Not only this, but the society will hopefully develop contacts, that will allow students to engage with 1st hand marine biology and charity work, which will only boost their prospects of getting a job, along with great experiences and memories. These are just a few of my goals in setting up a Marine Biology Society. But even if a few of these are achieved, I believe it will bring students closer together, subsequently resulting in a better learning environment, whilst having a positive impact on the general community and maybe even the world!
