pass/fail spring 2020 classes, instead of online

The Issue

in the wake of COVID-19 panic, the University of Maine has decided to cancel classes for the remainder of the spring 2020 semester, and transition to online classes instead. Many students are big fans of online classes, but there are also students who struggle with online classes.

We all know that different students learn in different ways, and many students find it nearly impossible to keep up with and pass an online class. I encourage you to sign this petition to make classes pass/fail, based on the student's current course grade.  It is extremely unfair to force students to take classes through a forum that we know does not work for us. Being forced to switch all of our classes to online will cause GPA's to drop, financial aid to be revoked, and may cause some of us to not graduate on time.

We must think about what is best for our students. Please sign and share this petition so we may have what is best.
