When I was scrolling through the uniform catalogue, a wave of rage and annoyance washed over my usual apathy.A bunch of thoughts rushed through my head:why do the girls have to wear only skirts? Why shouldn't girls get to wear pants too?what is the purpose of segregating uniforms based on gender?

In today's day and age, gender neutral uniforms and gender neutrality is an important symbol of equal rights between men and women.Furthermore, this change also represents inclusivity,equality and respect towards the LGBTQ community especially the  transgender, gender-fluid, non-binary etc students (if there are any).Lots of girls might also simply be uncomfortable wearing skirts for various personal reasons.These aren't the Victorian ages anymore, we must get a choice to wear pants.

It is extremely important to take into consideration the needs of these two communities (girls and LGBTQ peoples) and therefore it is vital to at least give them a choice whether or not they would like to wear pants or a skirt. Currently, we aren't even getting an option but that can all change with YOUR support by signing this petition.
