Cases in Los Angeles county are rising as we speak. There are about 40,000 cases and 4,000 hospitalizations per day. It is unsafe for anyone to be on campus. At the least they can have an option for students who don’t feel safe being in person to join in the class via zoom online. NYFA wants to hold acting classes in person even though students must be masked while rehearsing scenes + participating in class
This does not make sense. At least on zoom one has the freedom to act and emote with a mask less face! Shoots and final performances can most definitely be in person however there is absolutely no need for us to have classes in person. Many of us have old parents and grandparents and family members who are at risk. This is unfair to us and them. This is a request to NYFA administration to be a little thoughtful and sensitive and NOT FORCE STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN CLASSES IN PERSON. Instead of forcing students to take a booster shot, create the option of having-online classes. This is a free country, not a dictatorship.
