On November 5, 2020, the Kutztown University Activists (KUA) took part in a conversation with KUPD. In the discussion, Chief of Police John Dillon and Deputy Chief of Police David Drezek emphasized that officers who partake in inappropriate behavior must be punished. Recently, it has come to the attention of KUA that KUPD police officer Alan Swartz has been promoting harmful and dangerous content to his public Facebook page. These posts prove that this officer is not a person who should be allowed to protect students whom he may have a bias against. KUA believes that this toxic culture has infiltrated the department as evidenced by student stories of mistreatment by KUPD (stories @kuactivists on instagram). Due to this, we demand the following remedy:

We demand the removal of any officer who displayed bias or contempt for the student body at Kutztown University in or out of uniform.

This includes:
Transphobic comments, writing, or actions.
Homophobic, comments, writing, or actions.
Racist comments, writing, or actions.
Sexist comments, writing, or actions.
Conspiratorial comments, writing, or actions.
Xenophobic,  comments, writing, or actions.

The above actions are to be defined by an independent conduct review board made up of professors, campus workers, and students
