Everyday we dress differently, it's basically human. But with school? Nope. We get yelled at, detention, or even sent home for wearing the wrong colored shirt. Girls are shamed for wearing to short of shorts or skirts. All students are against dress code, no student wants to come to school worried about being pulled out of their class and their education because of wearing a wrong hoodie? All teachers want their students in their class, they don't want to send students out. We wouldn't have this problem if we had modest free dress code in Edison High School and all of TPS. There is plenty of reasons and research showing that uniforms and dress code do NOT help education, do NOT help testing, do NOT help attendance, and do NOT solve clothing issues. There are more schools in the US with free dress than uniforms and there is no problems with them. Union High School and Union district schools allow free dress in all schools because education is more important than clothing. This dress code is a limit to our freedom and limit to expression, violates our human rights and makes everyone unhappy. But at Edison High School, they think that wearing jeans with holes is a distraction or wearing a solid color hoodie. All students are against dress code and so should parents and teachers. Personally I was pulled out of class from my education because a teacher was uncomfortable with how short my shorts were and they were at fingertip length. Personally I hate dress code and I would love to wear whatever I want at school because I am here to learn not get shamed or pulled out of class for clothing.
