Due to the pandemic, Mississippi State University's Fall 2020 semester includes class schedules combining online and face-to-face instruction. Many students have had most or all of their classes moved online. Online classes do not provide the same level of education, yet MSU's tuition has not been adjusted. The student body of MSU is requesting the university to use the same financial method enacted over the Summer 2020 semester. For the Summer semester, MSU reduced tuition for all summer classes moved online. As of now, an out-of-state student who is exclusively enrolled in online classes (not on their own accord) will still be required to pay the full out-of-state tuition fee.

While online classes are necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the quality of education and tuition must be addressed by the university. MSU has yet to address the financial changes and the student body is requesting communication. The students of Mississippi State University urge the University to work towards a solution during these unprecedented times.
