Cancel Classes Wednesday at Northwest
The Issue
Let’s take a trip back to 2015 when the Royals won the World Series and brought our great city the long awaited trophy along with a great sense of pride that flooded the streets. There were more than 800,000 people watching that parade and there are more than that expected for the Chiefs parade this coming Wednesday! There was nothing but a sea of blue surrounding the parade route. Complete strangers coming together for one day to support the ones who brought us that trophy. Those athletes were heroes in all of our eyes, they brought us together and reminded everyone else who we, the people of KC, were.
It has been 50 years since the Chiefs have even been in a Super Bowl and now in the year 2020 they have conquered the mountain, claiming the title of champions! This is a unique, once in a lifetime, opportunity. The story of Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs is one that will go down in NFL history, and we can be apart of this historic time when attending the parade. Every game in the postseason the Chiefs had a double digit deficit. Every single time, they rallied back with their fans standing tall right behind. The team never gave up, this perseverance by both the team and fans was well rewarded when they brought KC the unforgettable win in Super Bowl LIV. They fought for the fans, it’s time that the fans return the favor and be there for them.
President Jasinski, I am asking you to please cancel classes on Wednesday 5th to allow the students and faculty to make a memory of a lifetime by attending this parade.
