Due to COVID-19, BCIT is delivering most of their courses online. During this difficult time both emotionally and financially, It is absolutely unfair to pay the same tuition fee for online classes. Instructors are no longer handing out paper materials and there is zero to less building maintenance required. Most of the janitors are laid off as buildings shut down back in spring time. All the computer labs are closed and they are no longer required to pay the same amount for electricity. Also, government is helping BCIT financially since most international students left the country. BCIT needs to reduce the online fee for all the students. Let’s sign the petition everyone and share as much as we can. Students are struggling with college fees in general and during the COVID-19, most of us weren’t able to find jobs during the summer. Paying the same tuition fee as in person classes, is outrageous.
