Finn Haney started this petition to Students at Barrington Highschool

Hello Barrington School Board. I heard you have seen this and claimed that my arguments are not adequate. I will not give up because this issue matters to me, and over a thousand more clearly as you can see from the people who have signed it. Since my opinions aren't good enough for you, I asked students of the High School what they think. "Macs are so much easier to use, they need to take the students opinions seriously and make the choice that benefits the students most. School is for students. Macs get us ready for the real world, people in the world use computers for work, not iPads." -Amelia Mosele. Students don't like at all that you're considering switching, because it's our education, not yours. "Macs have much better battery life, access to more programs, a built in keyboard, a better internal processor, and more storage. MacBooks are more durable because the screen is protected when the computer is closed unlike an iPad where the screen is always exposed. The newer iPads also don't have headphone jacks so we would need lightning headphones which means we cant charge and listen to things for class at the same time. The accessories we would need for iPads are expensive as well if we're looking for quality. Apple pencil, plug in keyboards, etc. These accessories are unreliable unless you spend a lot of money." -Nathan Serek. Many students at schools that use iPads have also spoken to me about how much they absolutely hate it. My girlfriend goes to Fremd, a school which uses iPads, and she constantly tells me how many issues students at the school have with iPads. Don't dismiss the concerns of the very students who use the technology. We are more than adequate. Never count us out.
