Given the recent emergency health scare in America SDSU seems to be taking most precautions necessary to keep its students safe. Unfortunately as time goes on it seems more and more departments in the school are failing to take the emergency as seriously. Some departments have cancelled classes and tests all together while some are planning to still move forward in person with testing. It is understood this week has been very stressful for everyone, students and teachers, but it is unfair after a week of uncertainty and worry to expect the students of the university to complete a test and do well to the best of their ability. As many people can see everyone is handling the situation differently but the school fails to see the stress this pandemic is putting on many of its students. As a person who suffers from anxiety I know what a toll this has had on me and other students who go through similar struggles. It is unfair to students panicked and anxious of the virus to be expected to perform at the same level they would if none of this was happening. I believe it is up to the President of SDSU and the school to step back and evaluate this issue for what it is. If the school wants all students to succeed the best course of action would be to at least postpone classes and tests a week or 2 weeks to get the situation figured out so it may run smoothly for all students and teachers.
