Students Against Administrative Neglect at National University (NU)
The Issue
WE STAND STRONG TOGETHER. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO FIGHT ALONE.
We are demanding answers, transparency, and accountability for students facing prolonged financial aid delays, unresolved FAFSA issues, academic and financial administrative errors, and unanswered requests for help at National University (NU).
THE CONSEQUENCES ARE REAL. PEOPLE'S LIVES ARE BEING AFFECTED. SOME STUDENTS HAVE REPORTED EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS. THIS IS NOT OKAY.
Some students have been waiting for months for help. Reaching the appropriate department or advisor can feel impossible, even after repeated attempts. Meanwhile, our lives don't stop. We still have rent, bills, families, and educational responsibilities to manage. When funding is delayed or administrative problems remain unresolved, students can face serious financial hardship, housing insecurity, and uncertainty about their education.
WE CANNOT CONTROL THESE ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSES, BUT WE ARE THE ONES LIVING WITH THE CONSEQUENCES.
Students should not be left struggling financially while waiting months for answers or trying repeatedly to reach someone who can help.
WE ARE DEMANDING:
- Protection from current and future harm to students' education, finances, and housing stability.
- Accountability for harm already caused, including fair reviews and appropriate remedies for affected students.
- Timely resolution of academic, FAFSA, and financial aid issues.
- Accessible communication and support without months of unanswered requests.
- Meaningful investigation and corrective action to address documented failures and prevent recurring harm.
We call on National University and the appropriate federal agencies to take these concerns seriously, investigate documented cases, address existing harm, protect students currently affected, and implement safeguards for the future.
NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN PURSUING AN EDUCATION AND KEEPING A ROOF OVER THEIR HEAD.
