Chef Lauren is one of the most passionate teachers within Barrington High school, IL. She is loved by all students she has taught and recently she has been facing many battles. Despite fighting illness and physical pain, she has still done her job diligently, passionately and with the utmost class. She has also always supported the decisions of District 220 as well as the community, with acts such as reaching out to the homeless during Covid and serving over 1.5 million meals to people in need.
   
Recently, despite all she has done for this community, the district is trying to remove her, even though she has put her whole heart, soul, time and energy into many aspects. Not only is Chef Lauren highly involved in the community but her 13 year old daughter, Riley, who isn’t even a barrington student, is extremely involved. Riley has volunteered in many community events and also donated an immense amount of her time to the district. 

    By removing Chef Lauren from this district, a grand part of the community is leaving with her. Chef has connected deeply with each and every one of her students as well as other staff and forms life time bonds with them. Chef Lauren has been involved in this district for 8 years, and has improved many aspects including the food in the cafeteria, the installation of the coffee bar, and improving the entire culinary program. The district has used her for this work and now are trying to remove her, even after all the time and effort she has put in, which is justly unfair.
