Covid-19 - Sanctuary students should waive third semester accommodation payments
The Issue
Sanctuary Students are continuing to force students in their accommodation to continue to pay their accommodation fees throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
Many students have left their accommodation due to advice from both the universities and government, yet Sanctuary Students are continuing to support the narrative that this was a choice instead of a necessity. For many, this was not a choice, yet Sanctuary Students are trying to compare this decision to "going home for the Christmas holidays". In light of this, payments for the third semester are being forced upon vulnerable students, to pay for an empty room.
Several other student accommodation providers have waived third semester fees for their accommodation, such as Unite Students. This is because they understand the financial vulnerability of students in this difficult.
Sanctuary Students continuing to exploit students by deciding to not take responsibility as a big company is disgraceful, showing that they would rather profit than take care of those who are supposedly under their care.
We are petitioning Sanctuary Students to change their mind and waive the final semester fees.
