Post Graduate Student Association (PGSA) started this petition to Student services

Due to the current cut-offs for fees and new fees regulation at the University of Waikato, many students (majorly postgraduate students) are now in a situation where they are asked to pay a significant proportion of the yearly student services levy - even though they have not been enrolled for a significant proportion of the year.

The Post Graduate Students Association (PGSA) of the University of Waikato is aware that a large number of postgraduate students have concerns about the way in which the student services levy is charged. The PGSA is advocating for a fair deal for postgraduate students aiming for a fair levy calculation. We will continue to actively work towards this goal until a better method of fee calculation is agreed with the University

Even though each student issue differs on a case by case basis, the general reason for the issues narrows down to the new fees regulation and the student levy situation.

Since the current system is unfair, the students who are enrolled and re-enrolled in the current academic year are facing many issues due to this situation. It is important that all the students, who have raised their concerns to the PGSA and who have been facing issues due to the student levy, be a part of this petition so that it will be supportive for the PGSA to advocate the issue further to the University of Waikato: Student Services.
