Over the last few hundred years, around 600,000 Elephants have been poached for money or ivory. Every single day, around 100 elephants are killed for their valuable tusks. Within this decade, elephants will likely go extinct because of the mass poaching. Elephants have tusks, made of ivory, that are highly valuable, and can be sold illegally. Ivory trade was made illegal in 1975 when a trader placed a part of an extinct elephant species up for trade, and the authorities considered it enough. Every 15 minutes, an elephant is killed, and by the end of next week likely over 350 elephants will be killed. Elephants are beautiful animals, who deserve to live just as much as humans do. In some areas, poachers can face up to 5 YEARS in jail for killing an elephant, other areas is 15-30 years. Why would you kill an innocent animal, just to go to jail? STOP the elephant poaching in Africa!
