In 2015 I was a sixteen-year-old student who had very little understanding about what really went on in the countryside. I had no idea that fox hunting was still happening, and it sickened me to think that they could carry on getting away with killing wildlife for the sheer fun of it.
So that is when I chose to try and do something about it. I set up Keep The Ban as nothing more than a Facebook page with a passion to raise awareness of what was going on. Fast forward 6 years and we have a community of over half a million people and have achieved so much for wildlife. In October 2020 I decided to make Keep The Ban a non-profit organisation and to dedicate my life to end this disgusting pastime.
In the past six months I have worked on the following:
- Petition to end hunting on Forestry England land surpasses 100,000 signatures and scheduled for Parliamentary debate
- Our freedom of information requests exposed how several hunts had claimed covid grants – leading to nationwide media coverage
- ‘I am a hunt saboteur’ series launched – first of its kind interview with a hunt saboteur documenting what it is really like to sabotage hunts
- Over £1,000 given to hunt saboteur groups and grassroots anti-hunting campaigns
- Over 35,000 emails sent to landowners demanding an end to ‘trail hunt’ licences via our new email tool
- New Keep The Ban website launched with comprehensive information and FAQs about hunting related issues
- Significant support given to the Hunt Investigation Team to continue their investigations into wildlife crime
