Evidence suggests that stricter laws are effective; in countries where legislation mandates severe penalties, rates of animal abuse have visibly decreased.

This change is vital not only for the animals but for our society as a whole. It sets a precedent that animal lives matter and their suffering will not be dismissed. Abusers often go on to hurt other people, making it crucial to address cruelty at its root.
