When I hear "when I grow up," I can't help thinking about what kind of planet will still be here for the next generation. That simple phrase says so much. It makes me think about the forests being cut down right now, the animals losing their homes, and the damage we keep treating like somebody else's problem. We talk about the future like it's guaranteed, but it won't be if we keep destroying the natural world.

This is so much bigger than one moment and bigger than one video. Deforestation affects wildlife, the climate, air quality, water systems, and the future our children will inherit. Entire ecosystems are being pushed past the breaking point while communities everywhere are left to deal with the consequences. If we care at all about the world young people are growing up into, then we have to care about the forests and the life they protect.

I am calling on national environmental leaders and lawmakers to strengthen protections against deforestation and enforce real safeguards for forests and wildlife. That means stronger limits on destructive clearing, better protection for critical habitats, and real accountability when ecosystems are damaged for short-term gain. We cannot keep pretending that awareness alone is enough while forests disappear and species are pushed out of the only homes they have.
