The Issue

Hello everyone, This is Shivansh Gupta a student Of BBA-3rd year from SAITM.

I just want to aware all the citizens of India that animals are also a living creature like humans. So they also have right to life.

By the way, I am requesting all of you that we all should contribute towards animals firstly by not killing them for our personal use but also keeping water bowls in the parks. So that whenever they are thirsty, they can drink water.

There should be ban on -

1. Hunting

2. Killing them for food

3. Poaching

The act of Animal sacrifice ( 1959) of karnataka prohibits the sacrifice of animals in religious places like

1. Temples and

2. Mosques

Violations against the law can lead to penalties like:

1. Fines upto Rs. 2,000 or more

2. Imprisonment for 5 years or more.

3. Or both of the above .

Potential demands:

1. Improved living conditions , better housing ,sanitation and care for animals

2. Protection from cruel behaviour, abuse neglect

3. Protection of endangered species and their habitats.

Potential targets

1. Government agencies so that petitions can be addressed to local ,national and international authorities.

2. Corporations for animal testing ans farming etc.

3. NPO which stands for Not For Profit Organizations

Animals, just like humans, have innate rights that need protection and respect. In the United States, the Animal Welfare Act of 1966 remains the only federal law in place to regulate the treatment of animals in research, exhibition, transport, and by dealers. Tragically, this legislation does not extend to all animals. Birds, rats, and mice bred for research, and horses not used for research are excluded, and farm animals are exempt from the Act.

It is disheartening to note that every year, approximately 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized (670,000 dogs and 860,000 cats). The highest percentage of these animals are euthanized due to lack of shelter space or due to their medical condition (ASPCA statistics). It is clear from these numbers that current laws fall short in protecting our innocent brethren.

We petition the government to increase legal protection for all animals, without exceptions. Penalties for animal abuse and cruelty should be increased significantly to deter such behavior. Provision of decent and humane treatment of animals should be a standard, not an option.

Let's stand with our animal friends. They can't voice their pain; we must for them. It's high time we saw the inclusion of mandatory animal rights education in schools to inculcate empathy and kindness towards animals from an early age.

Make a stand for animal rights. Sign this petition and urge our lawmakers to enhance laws protecting animals.
