As we continue on our journey with this petition, I’ve had many conversations about it, especially since it's unconventional for me to be so vocal about a religious issue. I consider myself open to all cultures and religions while staying firmly rooted in my own beliefs.
I was encouraged by those in my circle who asked thoughtful questions, and even those who practice different faiths understood the broader concerns at stake. I’m grateful for that.
However, there were others who scrutinized the petition. I welcome constructive criticism, but I’ve also heard from people who shared the petition that they received unwarranted hate from co-workers of a particular faith. Some accused it of promoting casteism, while others reacted harshly without engaging with the issue.
One thing has become clear: if someone has a problem with another person’s faith, it often reflects a misunderstanding of their own religious teachings. True faith should foster respect and understanding, not division.
