The Issue

My property is caught up in a situation that feels like a nightmare. My neighbors—no, my neighbors' neighbors' neighbors—hired someone to clear land. Somehow, that crew ended up on my property, without a word to us, causing significant damage. We weren't consulted, nor warned. We simply came home to find our land altered and beloved plants gone. How is this allowed to happen without any oversight or accountability?
We had someone assess the damage, and it's staggering—147 feet of our land affected. An arborist is on the way to review the loss of a beautiful, mature rose of Sharon, over a decade old. This situation has been devastating. Though we've just begun to uncover the full extent of the damage, it’s clear that current property line enforcement laws in Kansas are not sufficient to prevent such invasions and the resulting turmoil they cause.
We need stronger property line enforcement laws in Kansas to prevent unauthorized land clearing. This isn't just about my property. It’s about protecting every Kansan’s right to their land without fear of unexpected and unwelcome encroachment. By reinforcing these laws, we can ensure that communication and permission are mandatory before any action is taken near property lines.
Your support can make a difference. By signing this petition, we can push for changes that ensure landowners across Kansas are protected. Let’s call for stricter penalties for unauthorized land clearing and ensure that property rights are respected. Our homes and lands deserve this protection. Sign now to support stronger property line enforcement laws in  Kansas.
