In our city of Bullhead City, AZ, we are witnessing a disturbing trend of animal abuse cases that go unprosecuted. The current laws are not being enforced effectively and it's time for this to change. Our personal experience with this issue is heart-wrenching. We have clear evidence from a security camera video of a woman violently slamming her brother's little dog onto the ground. Despite this evidence, the woman was merely given a citation and the dog was not taken by Animal Control (AC) to be checked for injuries.

This is just one instance among many where justice has been denied to abused animals in our community. There were six dogs at their residence which exceeds the city limit but no action was taken against them for this violation either. Earlier cases left without prosecution involve a dog left for dead after having its throat slit and another chained in filth inside a trailer for eight years before being abandoned.

These horrifying incidents highlight an urgent need to update our local animal abuse laws and ensure they are strictly enforced by officials. It is crucial that felony charges be enacted against such abusers who show no regard for these innocent lives.

We call on local officials in Bullhead City, AZ to take immediate action - strengthen our animal abuse laws, enforce them rigorously and prosecute those who violate them without exception or leniency.
