Who is Brian MC?

Brian MC is the man who started this whole thing in the first place. Because he doesn't understand the consequences of his actions, he seems to believe that the entire LGBTQI+ community should be offended by the Golden Gaytime brand, when it's not actually his job to speak for every person in the community.

Even though Brian's petition hadn't even hit 1000 signatures, news outlets across Australia latched onto this story with everything they had because the floods on the east coast are finally over, and there's nothing to talk about anymore.

Why should the name be kept as is?

The name should be kept exactly as it is because Brian MC is clearly very bored and is projecting his oppression onto the rest of Australia. As a bisexual man, I really don't care for virtue signallers like Brian, especially as he has already done more damage than good in fanning the flames of hate. Brian started a fire in his own backyard and now we all have to deal with the heat.

Comments sections on Facebook news articles are at this time, filled with people spewing hate in their echo chambers. Brian's ridiculous equasion of Golden Gaytime's offensiveness with the previous Cheer cheese name is incredibly insulting to those were actually hurt by that racial slur.

What are the real impacts of this petition?

Thanks to this petititon (and the virtue signallers who signed it) I no longer really feel safe on the internet. Brian MC's petition is a gross misrepresentation of the majority of the LGBTQI+ community. What Brian has effectively succeeded in doing is starting a conversation about how straight people can hate the gays even more.

If Brian MC is on such a high horse that he is offended by the name of an icecream from the 50's, maybe his definition of 'oppression' needs reworking. The LGBTQI+ community have far bigger problems than this, and creating these kinds of stories in our local media only makes us look like a joke.

A few years ago four Australian states pulled out of the Safe Schools program, but no no, we better make sure Golden Gaytime know that our voices will be heard!

If you're reading this Brian MC, stand down. You've done enough. The community aren't your personal attack dogs. We don't agree with you.
