Have sent an email to Representative Gary Palmer that can be read below. Also listed a way to contact Rep. Palmer.

Mr. Palmer my name is Bradley Daniel, and I am contacting you in regards to the current state laws preventing the street legal use of UTV'S and similar vehicles. More specifically why aren't there provisions that allow a properly equipped side by side to be registered and issued a tag for legal, on road use? There are numerous reasons why myself, as well as thousands of other fellow alabamians would like to see provisions made that would make this possible.

Some examples are the simple convenience for land owners to be able to easily commute to any part of their property with ease. Farmers often see the benefits of being able to run to the co-OP or other stores that are right down the road without having to change vehicles. Then there are the benefits of those of us that enjoy the recreational use of our side by sides. Almost half the states throughout this country already recognize the need for the street legal use of UTV'S, and more importantly are reaping the benefits of the boost to there economies. There are already numerous OHV parks all over this great state that side by side enthusiasts frequent regularly and often camp or stay in cabins that can be rented. Most of these parks have nearby towns with restaurants, gas stations, and other stores. The last thing I want to do when spending a weekend riding trails and camping is to go through the hassle to load my side by side up and take it just fill it back up with fuel. These are just a few examples of why I think the laws should be changed to allow UTV'S to legally use the streets and highways.

Also i have started a petition on the change.org website that has gotten over 100 signatures in less than 24 hours and steadily gaining support. I hope you too can see the benefits of why there should be a way to legally register and tag these vehicles for on road use, as long as they are upgraded with proper safety equipment and used within the traffic laws of our state. Thanks ahead of time for your time and audience

Regards,
Bradley Chase Daniel
