Street dogs needs love and care from us humans, we should not ignore them.

The Issue

I am a resident of San Carlos City, Pangasinan, Philippines, and I believe that we should treat street dogs with the same compassion and care that we would extend to our fellow human beings. These animals feel hunger just as we do; they need shelter to keep them warm just like us. They are living beings who deserve our respect and kindness.

Street dogs are a common sight in our city. However, their presence often goes unnoticed or ignored by many. It is important to remember that these animals did not choose this life; they are victims of circumstances beyond their control.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there are approximately 200 million stray dogs worldwide. In the Philippines alone, it is estimated that there are around 11.6 million stray dogs (Animal Kingdom Foundation). This number continues to grow due to factors such as abandonment, lack of spaying/neutering programs, and insufficient animal welfare laws.

These animals face numerous challenges on a daily basis - from finding food and clean water to avoiding traffic accidents and abusive individuals. They also pose public health risks such as rabies transmission which can be mitigated through proper management and care initiatives.

We call upon local authorities in San Carlos City to implement comprehensive strategies aimed at improving the lives of street dogs - from establishing feeding programs, promoting responsible pet ownership education campaigns, implementing spay/neuter initiatives, providing veterinary care for sick or injured strays, up until facilitating adoption drives for these homeless pets.

Let us remember: Street dogs have feelings too; they deserve love just like any other creature on this planet does. Let's give them a voice by signing this petition today!
