As an active citizen with a keen interest in my local school district, I often find it challenging to attend the school board meetings in person. However, this has not deterred me from wanting to stay in the loop about what happens in these meetings as they play significant roles in shaping the future of our district.

I am not alone in this challenge, many others in our community have expressed a similar desire to remain informed. During the pandemic meetings were live streamed. It’s time for our school district to adapt to emerging technology trends, as this accessibility has been well-received and widely appreciated.

Our board of commissioners has recently chosen to adopt this easily accessible method. Moreover, many other school districts have been proactive in making these changes, embracing technology to promote transparency and inclusivity. Our district, renowned for its tech advancements, should also champion these efforts.

Leveraging on technology to stream and archive these meetings on the school website can not only make the process transparent but also will provide an opportunity for more parents, teachers, students, and other stakeholders to participate in their own capacities. This is about fostering a community that values openness, transparency, and inclusivity.

Let's work together to initiate this change that could significantly benefit our community. Adopting this measure will ensure that we all are part of the journey in improving our district.
