Allow dogs on the Glasgow Subway

It's only when you visit other cities around the world that you start to look at your own back yard. From London to Paris, New York to the Netherlands, dogs are welcomed in all modes of transport, but alas, not on the Glasgow Subway

I'm Glasweigian blogger Forever Yours, Betty and this is my beautiful little Olive. She's a chill wee girl who has been sneaking on the subway since she was 14 weeks old. Last night, I was officially told by SPT Subway staff that she was no longer welcome onboard (even in the secure carry case seen here) and also reminding me that I had been warned before. At each refusal I have been told different story, from "bags are allowed" to "doctors notes are acceptable" (only if traveling to Cowcaddens) and now? Only when locked inside a cage.

As responsible owners, the last thing we would want to do is upset our pet or others. So if the dog is controlled and well behaved, what is the problem?

Glasgow is supposed to be a forward thinking city, and with dogs being allowed on all other modes of SPT transport, it is strange that we are stuck in the past when it comes to our beloved shoogle.

I would love the support of fellow Glasweigians and dog lovers to help bring Glasgow Subway up to date and allow dogs through their sliding doors. Rules are there for a reason, I get that, but in this day and dog friendly age, it just seems unnecessary.

So please, sign the petition and make SPT change their old fashioned rules to allow dogs on the Glasgow Subway.
