Another milestone update. It's lovely to see this petition reach 25 signatures, despite how long it took. The other one is doing much better, but I feel that is because it tackled 1 controversial topic as opposed to 2. Of course, it's a sad moment, because March Director Julian Sanjivan has more or less said that he and they proudly stand behind organizations like "Intact America", which, well... You might as well swap out the Pride flag with a confederate flag, and praise allegiance to Hitler, while you're at it. Any other ill views, fellas? Whip 'em out, loud and proud--it's Pride, the place to (not?) feel proud! We can't just discount how abusive, discrimnatory and prejudiced an organization is to a minority group just because we happen to approve of its agenda. I made these petitions to confront how such organizations treat people - that is, torment human beings - not to debate clinical circumcision. These are two different topics, and one does not acquit the other. I will make further updates as I (try to) communicate with Pride Parade NYC organizers. For people who claim to challenge institutions, practices and mindsets, it's interesting how tight they are. The brutal irony here is not news, however. I will continue to promote the petitions and raise awareness to this pervasive, interwoven double-standard. More soon. Tom
