Brief update before we hit 20 signatures, which will be soon. I have been in contact with Pride Parade NYC on and off for a while. Long story short, as expected, this is NOT something they want to hear, and I imagine that only with an overwhelming volume of signatures would they actually forward this information, to the relevant parties, and take it into consideration. So, I ask that you email periodically about this petition and this matter. Here is the email you can use: info@nycpride.org . Alas, it is only the general info contact, but it is what I was given when I asked. Nudge them every now and then, if you can. Tell them, "I have reason to believe Pride Parade has advocated for harm to minorities in some of its promotions and for the sake of Pride Parade and what it means, these promotions should be better evaluated", if you can't think of what to say, and link this petition. Pride Parade is coming soon...and the same harmful, impertinent and most importantly dishonest promotions will be the cause of only more upset and more unnecessary self-loathing this year, in a place striving for just the opposite.
