Stormont Executive must take action to deal with grass verges / potholes.
The Issue
We the undersigned call upon the Stormont Executive Ministers of Finance and Infrastructure to allocate sufficient funds to ensure that grass cutting frequencies are increased as the current policy is inadequate, and to ensure that provision is put in place to repair dangerous potholes on road surfaces.
A drastic reduction in grass cutting frequency and provision to deal with potholes is causing extreme concern to road users.
Public safety is being compromised as overgrown grass on verges and at junctions is severely restricting visibility for drivers and pedestrians, deep potholes on road surfaces are very dangerous and causing hazardous driving conditions for motorists and cyclists within the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough .
The current situation where we are witnessing a lack of basic service provision is wholly unacceptable and should not be tolerated by the ratepayers/taxpayers of the Borough.
