A message from Les and Susie Baugh
— I’m looking for a real fighter…
…who will stand strong for Shasta County. I feel Chris Kelstrom is the best choice for District 5 Supervisor. So what am I looking for? I’m looking for someone that will stand up and support conservative Shasta County values - not just go along to get along. I want someone to forge a path ahead representing this strong, stubborn district. I’m really not interested in someone that will vote with the status quo just to keep the peace. I want someone who clearly understands they work for the electorate, not other supervisors. At times, the fight is necessary. I’ve spent the last 16 years pushing back at this cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all state we call California. Without the will to stand strong, we wouldn’t have sport and recreational access to Federal lands. If we just gave into Sacramento, we would have another massive transmission line cutting through pristine Parkville Road and Cottonwood. Without standing strong we would have 679’ windmills sprouting throughout the inter-mountain region. By simply going along, the poorly planned Tierra Robles project would be under construction, without water, in fire-prone unincorporated Shasta County. I originally endorsed Baron long before others entered the race. Now that I can compare the two remaining candidates, side-by-side, it’s very clear that Chris Kelstrom is the stubborn fighter I’m looking for. I spent the last two years of my life listening to fellow supervisors who were unwilling to take a stand against California over-reach. At the very least, I expect my supervisor to take a strong “hell no” position when it comes to state nonsense. Frankly, I’m tired of the worn out “we don’t have the authority” phrase. Being elected doesn’t mean you no-longer have a brain or an opinion. So, to the hundreds of inquiries asking who I am voting for, both my wife and I are voting Kelstrom, Supervisor, Distict 5.
