The Shasta County Republican Central Committee at its May meeting Thursday evening overwhelmingly voted to endorse candidates in the June 7 local elections.
The committee endorsed Bob Holsinger for election as Shasta County Clerk and Registrar of Voters.
The committee endorsed Bryan Caples for election as Shasta County Superintendent of Schools.
Holsinger has worked as a volunteer coordinator for the Election Integrity Project California, and has worked as a poll observer for the past several election cycles. His priority is replacing Dominion voting machines and restoring confidence in elections.
Caples is a former superintendent at several Northern California school districts. Caples believes that the California and U.S. governments have overreached their authority by implementing programs that do not meet the needs of this community. He will be a conservative voice for student and parents.
Each is the only Republican candidate running in their respective races.
The committee has not voted to endorse candidates this year in any local races where multiple Republicans are competing for the same office.
