Dear Supporters,

Thank you for joining the struggle against ZIMURA.

The fight against ZIMURA’s $150 fee has taken a dangerous turn. Instead of listening to musicians, ZIMURA has openly defied the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, doubling down on threats and intimidation.

ZIMURA’s Latest Act of Bullying
Just days after the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) called for fair negotiations wide stakeholder consultations leading to a review of the tariff; ZIMURA released a new poster—not to revise their unjust fee, but to threaten musicians and venues with "nationwide monitoring" and "legal action."

This is not governance—this is tyranny!

  • They refuse to consult artists.
  • They ignore the economic devastation they’ve caused.
  • They bully instead of negotiate.

Where is the ZIMURA Board?
The Albert Nyathi-led ZIMURA board—which includes musicians like Hope Masike, Mudiwa Hood, and Janet Manyowa, Alexio "Goodchild" Gwenzi—has been shamefully silent.

These artists sit on the board, yet they say nothing as their fellow musicians suffer.
They allow Polisile Chimhini’s rogue management to run wild, enforcing policies that destroy livelihoods. They have failed to demand transparency on where royalties go.
This is betrayal. Is it:

  • Negligence?
  • Heartlessness?
  • Are they complicit?
  • Or are they captured?

If these board members truly cared about artists, they would speak up or resign.

What’s Next?
We WILL NOT be silenced. We WILL NOT comply with this extortion.

Here’s how you can help:
✅ SIGN & SHARE this petition widely—we need 10,000+ signatures to force action.
✅ TAG the ZIMURA board members (Albert Nyathi, Hope Masike, Mudiwa Hood, Janet Manyowa, Alexio "Goodchild" Gwenzi) on their social media handles and demand they break their silence.
✅ RECORD protest videos with the hashtag #ZIMURAMustFall #ArtistsNotCriminals #NotTo150
✅ BOYCOTT venues that enforce this fee—hit ZIMURA where it hurts.

Our Demands Remain Clear:
1️⃣ Scrap the $150 fee IMMEDIATELY.
2️⃣ Replace ZIMURA’s leadership with people who actually care about musicians.
3️⃣ A full audit of ZIMURA’s finances—where is our money going?

This fight is not just about fees—it’s about survival. ZIMURA thinks they can bully us into submission. They are wrong.

Stay strong. Stay united. We will win.
