The Issue

Many of us have been loyal YouTube users for years, but the proposed AI age verification update has us on edge. Like many others, I am unwilling to disclose my personal identification to an AI system that YouTube plans to introduce. The thought of having to share my private information, including my ID, for something as simple as watching videos online feels invasive and unnecessary.

YouTube has announced an impending rollout of this AI age verification update, which is set to hit tomorrow. Such a change could set a concerning precedent, pressuring individuals to submit their private data to an algorithm. This update threatens our online privacy and disrupts our trusted relationship with the platform.

In a digital age where data breaches and privacy concerns are rampant, such an update could expose millions of users to heightened risks. It's time for YouTube to reevaluate this decision and consider the broader implications it has on privacy rights in the digital space.

We fear that if this update proceeds, YouTube may face serious legal challenges as concerned users rally against this imposition. A significant portion of YouTube's audience is voicing their reluctance; they are not prepared for this invasion of privacy and are considering alternative platforms.

YouTube must listen to its community, recognize the uproar, and retract this AI age verification update. The immediate need is for a more user-friendly solution that respects privacy without compromising the security of personal information.

Let's stand together and urge YouTube to reconsider their course of action. Sign this petition to show your support for online privacy and convince YouTube to halt their AI age verification plans.

Also, if they don't cancel this update soon. Everybody in the US will stand up against all of you and soon all of you. Just you wait YouTube. We're gonna get our privacy back, If it's the last thing we'll ever do. I hate to do this to you YouTube, but we have to stand up against you! Sorry about this.
