This petition proposes that the way in which family court operates, needs to be changed so parents have a fair chance of proving their innocence or commitment to change. This can be achieved by rigorous parenting assessments and by observing their personal responsibilities and priorities such as commitments to contact sessions, parenting classes and willingness to work with the social services.

By allowing parents to submit their own evidence to be considered in court, the judge will be presented with the opinion of more than one medical professional. This will also eliminate the possibility of bias from both parties and present a fair chance for the parents case to be represented.
