Stop wildlife traffic deaths

The Issue

Millions of animals are killed each year due to traffic collision.  These same collisions injure and kill drivers and occupants as well as cause damage to vehicles and property.

Wildlife overpasses and tunnels have been proven to reduce wildlife collisions by up to 80% following a 20 year study on wildlife overpasses in Banff.

The recent death of Grizzly 399 by a collision with a vehicle near Grand Teton National Park has brought to light the need for all highways (especially those that pass through Parks) need to have wildlife corridors/overpasses or tunnels installs.

Urge the federal and provincial governments of Canada to make it mandatory that all new construction include overpasses or tunnels at regular interval and that they be installed to existing highways that run through parks.
