STOP WASTING TIME: submit the name of your scientist for the debate to which you have repeatedly agreed and SAVE LIVES!

Every signature counts. And the more we receive, the closer we will be to achieving unique public scientific debates which stand to transform the lives of patients such as ourselves, as we live with the harsh reality of life threatening illnesses every day, remembering those we have lost through a lack of effective treatments and cures.
Leading medical experts, supported by 122 MPs - and climbing - who have signed four Early Day Motions to date, are calling for up-to-date medical evidence to be heard explaining why effective treatments and cures are being delayed: evidence that will be presented via properly moderated, public scientific debate.
Two years after repeatedly and publicly agreeing to take part in this public scientific debate, scientists from the laboratory animal model community still have not provided the name of their main scientist who will represent them in this event, and this is delaying the debate indefinitely.
PLEASE SIGN and SHARE OUR PETITION. Each time the petition is signed its letter will be emailed to the public relations company which represents the laboratory animal model community 'Understanding Animal Research' (UAR), asking them to STOP WASTING TIME and submit the name of their main speaker for this historic scientific debate, to which they have repeatedly agreed.
Patients Campaigning For Cures (PCFC) is run by patients for patients. It also includes our families, friends, carers and valued medical health professionals. The medical Board which provides our evidence focuses on improving healthcare by improving research. By using scientifically viable research methods they hope to see safe and effective drugs brought to market faster and cheaper. These highly qualified experts show that current science now proves that the continued use of animal models for human disease is delaying the arrival of effective new treatments and cures: such animal experiments are now demonstrated to be unequivocally harming the people they are supposed to be healing.
What makes these debates unique, and why are they so important to us?
These debates are unique because their conditions have been endorsed as "well set out and fair" by Britain's foremost human rights defence barrister Michael Mansfield QC. A panel of judges will be present who will include experts from the fields of clinical medicine, complexity/chaos theory, philosophy of science, evolutionary biology, clinical research, drug development, and basic research. The debate conditions are specifically designed to achieve a scientific result which can be submitted as evidence in a wider legal action as well as to government bodies, in order to change now demonstrably outdated laws. The significance of this is in sharp contrast to the more casual 'vote on line' or show of hands at the end of previous debates, which all too often even muddle science and morality.
OUR CAMPAIGN POSITION
Because we are campaigning for our lives, we herby assert that the days in which more casual discussions thrived, without criticism, are over. We have witnessed many debates in which false scientific statements are claimed to be made on our behalf, passing by with no formal means to implement much needed legal change.
The MPs' Early Day Motions are delighted to announce that Dr Ray Greek will be the main speaker for the first debate's proposition: 'Resolved: animal models have no predictive value for human response to drugs and disease'. Dr Greek is President of Europeans for Medical Advancement (EFMA), the leading medical Board in its field which opposes animal experiments on the grounds that there is now overwhelming practical and theoretical evidence that such experiments harm human patients. EFMA has published five groundbreaking books on the unacceptable human cost of experiments on animals, as well as numerous times in the peer reviewed scientific literature. EFMA's recently named Trans-Species Modeling Theory (TSMT) joins preceding great Theories, including The Germ Theory of Disease and The Theory of Evolution.
