Here are key takeaways from the September 7th meeting for the largest proposed warehouses at #189 and #203 Homestead Road. The height of both buildings will be about 4 stories high and it will have 90 loading docks. We have mentioned that the length would be about nine football fields so now we know that one football field is approximately 10 loading docks. The Architect’s testimony clearly showed the public that the buildings could be modified for up to four future tenants with 24/7 operations. He also made us aware that there was no consideration for neighboring communities. The plans could at least have shown sensitivity to residents by locating the docks in the front of the building! The Architect’s testimony will continue at the September 14th meeting along with the applicant's traffic expert and planner. You can express your concerns about how tractor trailers will directly affect traffic safety, road maintenance, and change the bucolic nature of Hillsborough and your quality of life as long as it is stated as a response or question to their testimony. Additional meetings will have to be added since objectors’ experts and the public have a right to testify.
Before the September 14th meeting, there will be a rally outside the Municipal Building at 6:00 PM. Your attendance will show that many residents are frustrated! Bring signs and your voices and then attend the Planning Board Meeting at 7:00 PM. Lawn signs will be available for $10 to cover the printing costs. Before the Planning Board members make a final decision, please express your opinions and concerns. Please show up so that you don’t miss this opportunity!
