Nutley neighbors: tomorrow’s meeting is critical. We need everyone at the Nutley Municipal Building at 7PM, in person and ready to make your voices heard. Bring your testimonies, bring your questions, and bring your neighbors. This is our town, and if we want a say in what happens to it, we have to show up.
- You can post about the meeting in Nutley-related Facebook groups, on your Instagram, and on any other social media you use.
- Talk to your friends, neighbors, and fellow Nutley residents.
- Tell them: if they care about traffic, flooding, pollution, or the future of our town, they need to be at this meeting.
Whether you're a longtime resident, a daily driver through Nutley, or just someone who cares about protecting our community, your experience matters. Come ready to share it.
To highlight just one powerful testimony, here’s a statement sent to my father from Roger Weber, who owns Nutley Lumber near the proposed site:
"Hello Dr. Lyall, it was nice meeting you and the rest of the concerned residents that live around the location of our business, Nutley Lumber, at 263 Hillside Avenue. We have been concerned for years now, primarily for the additional flooding Prism Development is causing to our property. Which, of course, also impacts the residents downstream."
"As many residents have made abundantly clear, even if the new development proposal is changed to reduce traffic, it will still worsen flood and pollution issues. All stormwater from the Roche campus now drains into St. Paul’s Brook, instead of being absorbed or routed safely. That outfall, which used to be dry, now runs constantly, even in dry weather. Why? Where is that water coming from?"
"We’ve contacted NJDEP, but they seem more interested in accommodating Prism than enforcing environmental protections. This affects all of us."
Roger has offered to show any concerned resident the impact firsthand, feel free to reach out to him to learn more: Roger.Weber@atkinsrealis.com
We need bodies in the room. We need stories. We need solidarity. Tomorrow is our chance, let’s not miss it.
