A call to all governments and international organizations in the Western world to act swiftly and effectively to protect the rights of Alawites in Syria, who are subjected to a series of violations amidst the ongoing chaos in the country following recent political developments.

Since the fall of the regime on 12/8/2024, the Alawites have been exposed to the risk of systematic and organized genocide. It began with the disappearance of many civilians, and then their bodies were found slaughtered and thrown on the sides of roads and entrances to villages. Homes were also attacked, their inhabitants killed, and their money and property stolen in the Hama countryside. Some people seized their homes and were expelled from them. Despite the residents' attempts to complain to the new authorities, they received no response. After that, more violent attacks began, and they demanded that the Alawites hand over any weapons they had, and their homes were raided and searched. Then they besieged them, as happened in Safita, Homs, and the Hama countryside, and attacked them, beat them, and kidnapped thousands in the prisons of Idlib and Hama without knowing the fate of any detainee. Religious shrines were also burned and destroyed, and residents were assaulted and terrorized in the cities if the person was an Alawite.

All these violations are justified under the guise of individual acts, but they reflect an increasing trend of religious intolerance and persecution, undermining the freedoms of Syrian Alawites who are living in uncertainty. These actions threaten their safety and rights.

 

We issue this petition to urge Western governments to shed significant light on the protection of Alawites’ rights in Syria and to take immediate measures to ensure their safety, security, and religious freedom. It is also essential to preserve their cultural and religious heritage and create an environment where they can live without fear or persecution. These measures must uphold the principles of equality and inclusivity, fostering a society where all citizens, regardless of their religion, can live peacefully with equal rights and opportunities.

نداء إلى كافة الحكومات والمنظمات الدولية في العالم الغربي للتحرك بسرعة وفعالية لحماية حقوق العلويين في سوريا، الذين يتعرضون لسلسلة من الانتهاكات وسط الفوضى المستمرة في البلاد بعد التطورات السياسية الأخيرة.

منذ سقوط النظام في 8/12/2024 و العلويون يتعرضون لخطر أبادة منظم و ممنهج. بدأ باختفاء الكثير من الاشخاص المدنيين، و من ثم وجدت جثثهم مذبوحة و مرمية على جوانب الطرقات و مداخل القرى. كما تم الهجوم على المنازل و قتل اهلها و سرقة اموالهم و ممتلكاتهم في ريف حماه، و البعض استولى على منازلهم و طردهم منها، و رغم محاولة السكان الشكوى الى السلطات الجديدة الا انهم لم يتلقوا اي استجابة. بعدها بدأت هجمات أعنف و طالبوا العلويين بتسليم أي أسلحة موجودة لديهم و تمت مداهمة و تفتيش المنازل ، و من ثم قاموا بحصارهم كما حدث في صافيتا و حمص و ريف حماه و الهجوم عليهم و ضربهم و اختطاف الآلاف في سجون ادلب و حماه دون معرفة مصير اي معتقل . كذلك تم حرق و تكسير المقامات الدينة و الاعتداء على السكان و ارهابهم في المدن اذا كان الشخص ينتمي للعلويين.

كل هذه الانتهاكات مبررة تحت ستار الأفعال الفردية، لكنها تعكس اتجاهًا متزايدًا من التعصب الديني والاضطهاد، مما يقوض حريات العلويين السوريين الذين يعيشون في حالة من عدم اليقين. هذه الأفعال تهدد سلامتهم وحقوقهم.

نصدر هذه العريضة لحث الحكومات الغربية على تسليط الضوء بشكل كبير على حماية حقوق العلويين في سوريا واتخاذ تدابير فورية لضمان سلامتهم وأمنهم وحريتهم الدينية. ومن الضروري أيضًا الحفاظ على تراثهم الثقافي والديني وخلق بيئة حيث يمكنهم العيش دون خوف أو اضطهاد. يجب أن تدعم هذه التدابير مبادئ المساواة والشمول، وتعزيز مجتمع حيث يمكن لجميع المواطنين، بغض النظر عن دينهم، العيش بسلام مع حقوق وفرص متساوية.
