Stop Veterinary Malpractice: Justice for Joey, My Beloved Dog

Stop Veterinary Malpractice: Justice for Joey, My Beloved Dog
The Issue
On January 15, 2024, my 8-year-old pug, Joey, began showing signs of illness, including shivering. Concerned for his well-being, I took him to Laxmi Pet Clinic in Vaishali, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, where Dr. Manoj Saini and his assistant, Paravet Raju, administered a series of injections between January 15 and 17, 2024. One of these injections was Melonex, a medication known to be risky for dogs, especially those with underlying health conditions.
Despite being aware of the risks, these injections were administered without proper consideration of Joey’s health. Shortly after the treatment, Joey’s condition worsened rapidly. By January 18, 2024, he started vomiting and was diagnosed with acute kidney failure after blood tests revealed dangerously high creatinine levels. Despite immediate medical intervention, Joey’s health continued to decline, and he was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Stage 4.
Over the following months, Joey suffered immensely, enduring painful treatments to manage his condition. However, the damage caused by the improper administration of Melonex was irreversible. Despite our best efforts to stabilize him, Joey passed away on September 20, 2024, from complications linked to the malpractice.
This is not just a tragic story of the loss of a pet—Joey was a beloved family member. His life was cut short due to negligence and malpractice at a veterinary clinic that should have prioritized his health and safety. The actions of Dr. Manoj Saini and his assistant Paravet Raju in Uttar Pradesh, India, must be held accountable.
This case is not isolated. It highlights a grave issue of veterinary malpractice in India, where pets and their owners are being exploited due to lack of regulation and oversight. We must take action to ensure that no other animals suffer due to negligent veterinary practices.
I am calling on the authorities in India, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi to investigate the actions of Dr. Manoj Saini and Paravet Raju, and hold them accountable under the relevant laws, including the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 and sections of the Indian Penal Code related to negligence, fraud, and malpractice.
Please join me in demanding justice for Joey, and for all the innocent animals who deserve to be treated with care and respect. Sign this petition to ensure that those responsible are held accountable and to prevent such tragedies from happening again.
