Stop Vending Coca Cola While Watching Man Made Famine

Stop Vending Coca Cola While Watching Man Made Famine
The Issue
Why Coca-Cola vending machines/product’s/logos Should Not Be Placed at a man made famine Viewing Point
One of Coca Colas mottos is “Open happiness”…Remember the “Happiness” as you read on……
The placement of Coca Cola vending machines/product’s/logos at a viewing point where people observe the on-going man made Famine in Gaza is not only ethically questionable but also seriously normalizing a man made famine as a spectacle and a “Show” of some sort. I’ve inserted a picture on these machines on a vantage point in Stirat. such vending machines should not be installed at such locations due to the moral implications of profiting from suffering, Coca-Cola’s controversial ties to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the broader message it sends a “Hey look over there at the famine”-Fairly sick and twisted I’m sure most would agree.
DIRECTLY OPPOSITE OF THESE MACHINES IS MAN MADE FAMINE
Firstly, placing vending machines at a site where people watch Famine unfold trivializes the suffering of those affected. The war in Gaza, which has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and displaced millions since October 2023, is a profound humanitarian crisis. Positioning Coca Cola vending machines/product’s/logos at a viewing point turns a place of reflection into a commercialized space, suggesting that spectators can casually consume a soft drink while witnessing destruction. This setup risks desensitizing people that is man made famine, a sick form of entertainment playing live at the viewing point. Profiting from a man made famine is a sentence I never thought I’d type
Secondly, Coca-Cola’s presence in the region is already contentious due to its operations in the Atarot Industrial Zone, an illegal Israeli settlement in the occupied West Bank. The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement and organizations like Friends of Al-Aqsa have targeted Coca-Cola for profiting from Israel’s occupation, which violates international law,I did not know this until I stated looking into the placement of such machines. Installing vending machines/product’s/logos at a man made famine viewing point would amplify perceptions of IDGAF. Placing these machines in a sensitive location like this???They do not give a damn as long as another dollar comes in…..This is all a good “Show” right….?
The presence of Coca Cola vending machines/product’s/logos at such a site sends a broader message of insensitivity. Manmade famine is now backdrop for profit just like at Christmas-Is this Coca Colas Christmas?..—What happened to the family values stance they always seem to take and those happy TV ads?
Coca Cola vending machines/product’s/logos have no place at a Famine viewing point. And need to held accountable full stop.Im sure they will say “We cannot be responsible for where our vending machines/product’s/logos are””…….Yes they can, they spent 5 Billion Dollars US in 2022 alone in advertising….They have eyes and ears everywhere
I’m sure that if ever the orchestrators of this manmade famine ever let aid trucks in Coca Cola will possibly send water bottles…How will we know?Good PR…….Selective PR some would say
The people of Gaza are dying of hunger and thirst and yet somewhere on a viewing point its “The best show in town”…Along with a few ice cold Coca Colas……Remember Coca Colas motto “Open happinesss”?…..I’ve emailed them a few time to no avail, maybe they will see this
Please sign this petition to stop Coca-Cola vending machines/product’s/logos being placed at these hideous viewing points…..If you do not want to boycott Coca Cola, please please sign and share this to raise awareness
