An often overlooked story in Utah is that UDOT plans to spend over $1 billion to build an 8 mile Gondola to transport skiers from Cottonwood Heights to the base of two resorts(Alta and Snowbird).

Estimates now are the cost will be around $1.4 billion, but could go much higher with upkeep and management, considering it is a first of it's kind. 

Despite opposition from local businesses as well as Republican and Democrat elected officials they are moving forward.

At a cost per household at over $1000 we believe there are better things to spend tax dollars on than transporting skiers to 2 select resorts.
