Stop Using Plastic on Baby Clothes and Accessories!
Stop Using Plastic on Baby Clothes and Accessories!
The Issue
As a new mom, just after my beautiful baby shower, I should have been purely delighted to be surrounded by loving, thoughtful gifts but instead I faced the tedious task of removing excessive plastic stays from every bit of clothing, blanket, toy, teether and everything else. It was maddening! Some up to 15 stays plugged into each fold or sleeve.
It is so upsetting that my child (and pets) would be exposed to these microplastics and possible choking hazards if I missed one.
Mothers around the world, as seen by any quick internet search or Facebook rant, agree that these plastic bits to keep packaging neat and cute is wholeheartedly unnecessary, it is excessive use for product placement and imagery at the expense of our babies.

Mildly infuriating, putting it mildly.
Baby Bumps need to be Stress free!
Think of the environmental impact of these things!
Single use plastics have been banned in California, prop 65 has banned bpa and other plastic toxins in children utensils and toys, but how could we miss this simple step and prevent hazards in the home. Not to mention remove the frustration and stress for parents every where!
Start with baby items and move on to all clothing.
Win, win. Big brands - do better!
Carters, Jack & Cat, Buy Buy Baby, Procter & Gamble (P&G), Kimberly-Clark, and Johnson & Johnson, WalMart
