STOP using Fireworks as Celebrations to Protect Our Animals

STOP using Fireworks as Celebrations to Protect Our Animals
The Issue
I am writing this petition driven by the deep concern I hold for my service dog who, despite dedicating his life to serving us with nothing but kindness and goodness, trembles in fear due to the non-stop fireworks that mark our celebrations. His distress, shared by myriad animals, both pet and wild, is the tragic and unnoticed collateral damage of our revelry. We must cease fireworks celebrations to protect our animals.
It is a scientific fact, and something that any pet owner can attest to, that the loud noises produced by fireworks can cause significant stress to animals. According to the RSPCA, 45% of dogs in the UK show signs of fear when they hear fireworks (RSPCA, 'Fireworks frighten animals'). Our pets suffer unwarranted anxiety, and wildlife can be driven from their natural habitats resulting in road accidents and other detrimental impacts (Journal of Nature, 'Fireworks and Wildlife').
With every passing celebration, we risk the well-being of those creatures who cannot voice their discomfort. It is time our empathy extend beyond our species, taking into account the welfare of all beings that coexist with us.
This petition aims to raise awareness and finally put an end to the distress inflicted upon our pets and wildlife by fireworks celebrations. It is a call to our lawmakers, our communities, and to every individual. Let us find other ways to celebrate that do not involve causing fear and harm to the voiceless among us. Please, sign this petition and let us together protect those who cannot protect themselves.
