Animals are constantly being slaughtered for food, leather, etc. Not only is this exceptionally inhumane, but it also leaves a massive carbon footprint. Animals are sentient, just like humans, and they have a right to live, just like humans.

As many as fifty footballs may be used in one NFL game. One cowhide can make around twenty footballs. This means that approximately two animals must be slaughtered for one game. This may not sound like much; however, when considering that there are 272 games per season, not including playoffs, this adds up to over 500 animals slaughtered for one season. If the NFL used a different material, such as faux leather or vinyl, all of these animals would be spared.
